ELLE RUTH GOUND is a Los Angeles based interior designer and graphic artist. Her adventurous spirit and curiosity has given way to a range of creative expressions. Besides interior and graphic design, Elle also works in traditional painting, printmaking, and textile design. Her professional and personal pursuits in art, fashion and design have refined her aesthetic - eclectic, minimal & livable. Elle's style is influenced by the authenticity of nature and history. Her designs blend the reclaimed with pristine, antiquity with modernism, unusual with beautiful.
Elle has always been powerfully drawn to art and design. Even as a small child, she felt intoxicated by the freedom of creative expression. In her teens, she developed a love of the eclectic - clothing, home furnishings, antiques and all things unique or beautiful. Pursuing that passion led Elle to study art at the College of Santa Fe, now known as Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Jumping immediately into a job as a Graphic Designer for a commercial print shop upon graduation, Elle developed her skills in branding, helping clients translate a vision into an artistic direction for their business. After which, Elle decided to base herself in Los Angeles, where she now works in interior design and creative direction at Annette Tatum Collections, an upscale interior design workroom in Santa Monica. There she manages several interior design projects, including renovations, home styling, custom furniture, textile design, as well as brand development and visual merchandising for the company’s retail showroom.
When not designing Elle can be found curating eclectic chotchkies in her cozy home, hunting for hidden treasures on the streets of Los Angeles, or curling up with her one-of-a-kind pit bull mix, Bijou.
